Ann has over 30 years experience in mainstream and specialist education, as a primary class teacher, secondary learning support teacher, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), outreach advisory teacher and Specialist Leader in Education SLE.
She is the author of the Phonics for Pupils with Special Educational Needs programme and has written several books on teaching reading, including 'A Parent's Guide to Phonics' and 'Access to Phonics', a book for teachers of children with complex needs.
Phonics for SEN is used in schools across the UK and in Australia, New Zealand and the US.
