Lindsay Springer is the Director of Student Services at Paul Penna Downtown Jewish Day School in Toronto, where she oversees the social, emotional, and academic care of all students. Having completed both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in English Literature, Lindsay began her career as a middle school English Language Arts teacher with a keen interest in reading science, a role that later evolved into her becoming a special education resource teacher. In addition to her teaching role, Lindsay founded a private tutoring and consulting company where she leveraged her expertise to provide individualized intervention for children with learning difficulties as well as consult with dozens of families and institutions.

Most recently, Lindsay has completed a second Master’s degree in Developmental Psychology and Education at the University of Toronto, where her research has been in the area of neurodiversity and child development, with a focus on literacy, reading difficulties and learning disabilities. Lindsay is a CAIS Innovation Grants Recipient (2022) for her Response to Intervention research on implementing a science of reading based intervention program. In addition to being a Sounds-Write trained practitioner, Lindsay now also mentors other school-based researchers through her role on the CAIS Innovation Grants Committee.
